Filtration
Filtration is by nature site specific although Bowen Water Systems endeavour to standardize treatment systems for ease of maintenance.
Most boreholes require some form of correction, usually high levels of iron/manganese are present which cause pipe blockage and reduce pump life.
Bowen Water Systems use a simple and efficient method of iron/manganese removal by ensuring sufficient air enters the system prior to filtration. This effectively raises oxygen levels of raw water without the need for adding chemicals such as sodium hypochlorite or potassium permanganate or the need to backwash using salt.
Ideally we would remove the iron/manganese content by utilizing a simple clean water backwash system. Not only does this method prolong the life of the system but it has no effect on water flow rates either.
